What colour men's suit should I buy?

There are so many different options when it comes to men's suit colours. Whether you go for a classic look with navy or black, or stand out from the crowd in something bolder, choose your suit to match your personality and style. Grey is a great neutral, so you'll never be short on styling options. There are lots of opportunities to incorporate colour into your suit with a strong tie and pocket square or a pair of socks in solid colours.

Brown, olive or green suits are traditionally associated with autumn and the colder months, especially in tweed or flannel fabrics. But lighter, beige suits - oatmeal, stone, taupe - can be worn all year round.

What's the difference between a two-piece and a three-piece suit?

A two-piece is the versatile standard for men's suits, consisting of a matching jacket and trousers. It's the go-to for work, parties and most social events. A three-piece suit adds a matching waistcoat to the mix. This instantly elevates the look, adding a sartorial edge that's perfect for more formal occasions like weddings. It gives you more styling options – you can even wear the waistcoat with just a shirt for a sharp but relaxed look once the jacket comes off. Coordinate and dress to impress by pairing it with a formal shirt, tie and shoes.

How to measure a men's suit jacket?

When it comes to measuring your suit jacket, there are two things you need to keep in mind: chest size and sleeve size. Measuring the two correctly will help you find the perfect fit, whether you're looking for a slim fit suit, a tailored fit suit or a regular fit suit. Head to our menswear size guide for UK/EU sizes available at Moss.

How should a suit fit?

Depending on your frame, the type of suit that suits your body and fits properly can vary. There are four main fits to help you find the best suit for you:

  • Slim fit: This is our sharpest silhouette. It's cut close to the body, with a tapered trouser leg for a clean, modern line that's true to classic tailoring.
  • Tailored fit: A well-balanced fit that contours the body, with definition in the chest and a slightly tapered trouser leg. It's flattering, comfortable and timeless.
  • Regular fit: A more traditional cut that offers extra room through the chest and straight-leg trousers. It's designed for all-day comfort without compromising on style.
  • Relaxed fit: Our roomiest fit, cut generously for an overall looser look. The jacket has slightly dropped shoulders, a boxier fit in the torso and straight arms. The trousers are longer in the rise, with a wide, straight leg that falls to break on the shoe.
